BRUNA MEANEY

Hailing from a small city in São Paulo - Brazil, my journey is an artistic revelation grounded in simplicity, a genuine reflection of real-life experiences, devoid of embellishments, imagination, or untruths regarding the journey as a painter. The convergence of personal experiences led me to discover passion for painting. 
 

As the world locked down and Brazil faced its own challenges, I found myself in a unique confluence of events. A one-year-old baby filled my days with joy, but the empty spaces of lockdown left me yearning for something more. It was then that a desire stirred within me—a quest for understanding what truly resonated with my soul.
 

Facing the dilemma of an empty wall became a source of inspiration. Despite months of searching for the perfect piece of art with my husband, we found nothing that spoke to both our hearts. Frustration turned into determination, and with newfound courage, I embarked on a journey into the world of painting.
 

Armed with canvases, acrylic paints, and brushes, I faced the empty space above our sofa. Without any formal training or prior experience, I bravely ventured into the realm of art. Little did I know, this seemingly impromptu decision would become the catalyst for a profound passion.

 

My work is uniquely characterized by myself-taught technique. As strokes of color and emotion collided on the canvas, I could discover a freedom that transcended the confines of isolation. Painting became a sanctuary, a place where emotions could be released, another joy could be found. The act of creation brought with it a sense of wellbeing, excitement, and internal liberation.

But my artistic journey didn't stop there. The walls of home soon became adorned with all creations, each piece a testament to dedication and perseverance turned into passion. With a happy husband and a fulfilled heart, I continued to explore new techniques, textures, and larger canvases.
 

A dedicated online art mentor guided me, helping refine techniques and deepen my connection to the art form. The story took a formal turn when schools reopened, and I seized the opportunity to embark on a journey as a formal arts student, it still is a commitment to growth and improvement.
 

Yet, painting was not just a skill to be learned; it was a profound healing process. My emotions became the wellspring of inspiration, guiding my brushes, spatulas, acrylic painting and sprays in creating abstract art characterized by vibrant colors and textured canvases. Large in scale, each piece held a piece of my heart.

 

As the story unfolded, I evolved from a woman seeking a way to fill part of my time as an artist on a mission. The intention became clear—to add vida, charm, good energy and happiness to the spaces of those who welcomed me into their lives through my art.

 

Bruna's paintings were not just strokes on canvas; they were reflections of my inner truth, a connection to God, with myself and a celebration of the balance of energies that everyone has within them.
